Islaka Akanji (a.k.a Easy Wonder) is the force in African Fuji Music. He is the toast of Lagos for his creative Lapote Fuji style which deserves wider international attention. Akanji has served a long apprenticeship as a musician, composer and band leader. In 1980 he formed the EASY KABAKA Organisation which toured widely in Africa. Whilst other bands have extensive recording catalogues, Akanji is essentially a performance artiest with regular residences and touring.
His recordings are collectors' items among the connoisseur. Easy Target and Playboy continue to sell in huge quantities. The entire band are now ready for international stardom. Akanji has teamed with Ola Biamila, a leading London based producer, to bring you this remarkable recording.

The Biamila project required Akanji to extend his unique social commentary style, backed with some of the most demanding percussive arrangements. Seasoned fans can interpret the talking drums of Nojimu Ayangbade and Fatai Animashaun, as they maintain danceable tempo.
During the recordings, two giants of Nigerian music passed away, Prince Nico Mbagia (Sweet Mother fame) and Fela Anikulapo-Kuti. Akanji has recorded the first tribute to them.
Akanji has been a secret within the Nigerian community for too long. This recording places him in the international arena.
Enjoy.
A NEW YEAR MESSAGE FROM THE FUJI WARRIOR.

As we approach the new millennium and start this new year that leads up to it, I wish to take this opportunity to thank the Cyber community and the Naija Massive for making 1998 a memorable year for the band and I. A year in which our country entered with despair and for which we are now full of hope.
1998 was also a momentous one in my career and I became privileged to be the first Fuji artist to have a permanent presence on the web. I released my best selling Compact Disc "Easy Wonder"( Biamila) and toured African extensively. Everywhere we played we were greeted with warm welcome. People appreciated that the issues we had raised in our recording had come to pass. People credited us for saying it in the face of tyranny. We are proud as musicians to reflect the views of society, to be the voice of the oppressed and the disposed. They are our primary constituency and with my achievements I dedicated to the "TAZAKWA" and "MEKISVU".
I want to take the opportunity to thank the numerous organisations that have credited our work. I especially thank the African Students Society (UK) for giving our compact disc "Fuji Album Of The Year", and the coalition of Nigerians abroad (USA) for awarding us 1998 Merit Achievement Award. It is a great pleasure to be honoured so far away from home.
I want to thank the Biamila organisation for having the foresight to start the ball rolling. Our success is their success. I thank the "Easy Wonder" organisation for giving me the backing to move forward as an artist. I would like to thank Mervin and IANI media for their tremendous support and Web designs. In this new year I join hands with friends all over the world over the net to pray for peace, freedom and growth.
